Zachary Lank is an artist living and working in New York City. In 2012 he graduated from Pratt Institute, and earned his MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2018. Since then, he has shown in art fairs including 2021’s SPRING/BREAK, where he co-curated an independent booth, as well as multiple group shows. In the summer of 2022, he had his first solo exhibition, “The New Doctrine”, with Hawk and Hive gallery in Andes NY. He is also proud to be named the first ever alumni recipient of NYAA’s Chubb Fellowship; a year long position wherein he is provided studio space, a stipend, teaches students, and engages with New York City’s booming art world. His current body of work engages with the internal contradictions of the ongoing “American experiment”, or the idea of it anyway. With a foreclosedfrontier as backdrop, a ridiculous stageplay unloads its insane, inane, and terrifying consequences. Base and superstructure manifest as mutual, suicidal bondage and a strange preoccupation with puffed-up strawdummy simulacraensue.
